P.s. It wasn't really dark in there, I only an old film camera on me at the time though.

BASICALLY, there is really no point to this post apart from informing you these things are out there (which you may already know), and you should definitely try go to one because I think you'd appreciate it.

Hyped.

Managed to get my hands on an Olympus PEN, the digital version. Pretty stoked on it so far, thought i got to say that composing a photo through a lcd screen rather than a view finder makes me feel horrible and dirty. Like Andrew's drinking habit.

Poison Dart!

Coming straight at you!

House of John Player

Last night a bunch of artists played at the Kiln Farm Social Club, the aforementioned House of John Player was one of them. He's also playing the again next week for the start of a tour with Hired Muscle, so get down for that!

Salman Agah.

Time for another of my favorite skateboarding sections. Salman Agah, one of the major pioneers that brought around switch stance skateboarding in the early 90's.
In 1993 he won Thrashers Skater of The Year, this is also the year this part came out as part of "The REAL Video"
If that switch ollie at 2.28 ain't one of the dopest things ever, I really don't know what else is.

Lost Davey Dog.

One from back when I first I got my Sx-70
Lost Dogz

Ahhhhhh; bollocks.

Yesterday was pretty weird. I had my first appointment with my surgeon for the last few months, just a routine 6 month post-op thing. I was pretty stoked on the whole ordeal and the fact that it would probably be the last time I  went back, because my knee has been feeling really good recently, even with skating.
But things didn't really pan out as well as I thought. The knee I've already had the reconstruction on is apparently doing perfect, says my consultant Dr. Flynn, the problem now however is my other knee he feels. So basically, he fears that that I might of ruptured the ACL in my left knee now. Meaning there is a possibility that i with have to have the reconstruction surgery again, but on the other knee. Which would be shit as fuck.
I'll find out pretty soon, after I have the next mri scan. So I guess i'll pretty much keep posting shit on here as it happens.

Need people.

Last night we went to Kiln Farm to see some bands play, and it made me realize that I really need to start taking photographs of that stuff, or just photographs in general again. I want to start taking portraits, as i was never really good at it. But I feel half of what makes a photograph interesting is the subject, and I know that some friends of mine are very interesting, each for their own reasons.
I'd also like anyone that needs photos taken for them, bands, designers/illustrators/artists, event organizers, dancers, models, basically anyone! Just tell me to come take photos for you, and I will. Simple!

Oh yeah. I definitely think it's worth you listening to the bands from last night aswell:

And on another side note; I've decided i'm going to start rinsing 35mm, so I will have more photos up soon. SRS.

This is from the second roll of film i ever shot. I think I should take more photos of my Dad, he definitely is a interesting person which are always good to take photos of.

Dream.

I seem to be dreaming alot recently; really vivid and realistic, yet surreal dreams. Most of them I forget within the first hour or so of being awake, which is what usually happens when people have dreams i think. Last nights dream really stuck with me today though.
The main focus of the dream was a race between several people from England to France, one of the people in the race was a good friend Joel Peck. In the dream he was using a big, old wooden sail boat to cross The Channel. At the very end of the dream I remember finishing the race and wondering where Joel was, then I got told that he swallowed his tongue during the race and died. I then remember just going absolutely nuts, pranging out and being genuinely devastated by his death.
When I woke up I remember being so confused yet really aware as to what just happened in my dream, the first thing I did after waking up was checking on the internet if it is possible to swallow your own tongue. (apparently it isn't, though your tongue can swell and block your gullet, stopping you breathing) As the day went on though I kept on suddenly remembering my dream and getting pretty bummed out at the thought of it.
Though this dream really sucked, I hope I do continue to dream alot and hopefully remember the dream through the day. If i do, I'll probably talk about it on here again, which sucks for you if you found this really boring; gutted.

To make this entry some-what interesting, here's some photos of the very alive and well Joel Peck. (The last one was obviously not taken by me, but himself)

Pre-beard, Alan Davies in Jonathan Creek look alike. Summer 2008.

 Post Australia travels.

I forgot to mention that he takes fucking amazing photographs. So look at some of them here.

Friday 8 January 2010

Not an average Joe.

It really is a general concensus that Gino Iannucci has one of the most flawless and finessful styles to grace street skateboarding. Below is just one of his awe inspiring video parts from 101's "Snuff" relesed sometime in 1993, which I think most of you will agree is pretty much unfuckwithable.

What annoys me, is that if you ask one of the kids that skate day in and day out at the bus station if they know of someone called Gino Iannucci. They either say no straight up, which to me is fucking unbelievable, or like one of them said to me "Yeah, I saw him on The Berrics but he weren't skating. Who is he?" It's makes me think that all they care about is this new generation of new professional robot skateboarders which are appearing everywhere, which I agree some of which are an absolute fucking joke and are no doubt the future of skateboarding. Personaly I find it hard to watch most of these young kids that are absolutely killing it though, because they all have the same style. There's not alot of indviduality left in skateboarding these days. I can however think of a few names of the top of my head that I think are doing there own their own thing and really do deserve the praise they get. Guys like Grant Taylor, Justin Brock, Jake Johnson, Marquis Preston and even Alex Olson along with quite a few others are really doing their own shit, which i really like to see.

Basically there is not alot that I love more than 90's skateboard videos. So when I get lazy and have nothing to talk about or no pictures to post (which will probably be alot) I'm just gunna be posting some part from my favourite people to watch on a skateboard.

Wednesday 6 January 2010

I need to write more on this blog, talk about current goings on and what not.
So, I decided i will start. Soon, not now though. Always later with me.
